After Flanders and Swann
'Twas on a Monday morning the vandals came to call.
They shot at my head and then at my *bottom*
But all they managed to do was to break a pane of glass
So I had to call my landlord to get the window fixed.
Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.
'Twas on a Tuesday morning my garage door broke down
I muttered and I fumed and I pulled a nasty face
But then I remembered that I don't own the place
So I had to call my landlord to get the doors fixed.
Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.
'Twas on a Wednesday morning the repair-man came to call.
He couldn't do the job as he hadn't got the parts
But he measured the window and said he'd get the glass
And also order everything he'd need to fix the garage door.
Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.
'Twas on a Thursday morning another repair-man came to call.
He hadn't come to do the the job as he hadn't got the parts
But he measured the window and said he'd get the glass
And also order everything he'd need to fix the garage door.
Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.
'Twas on a Friday morning another van turned up,
With two lively lads 'we'll fix your garage door'
They set to with hammers, drills and a saw,
And when they'd finished, the thing was better than before.
Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.
On Saturday and Sunday they do no work at all;
So 'twas on a Monday morning that the glazier came to call...

I don't know who Swann is, but if you're going to impersonate Flanders, you really should put the word 'diddly' in there.
What you on about?
Great!
Enough already.
Please no more .
We don't want to hear about the glorious mud in your garden either, not to mention the French horn that you are longing to play.
Very good Dave.
Have you seen tha Armstrong & Miller take on F&S?
Morning. You're obviously feeling a bit better.
What's the tune that goes with this?

Oh I see, yes a bit before my time.
I am of an age to have sung along as I read this, Dave.
But may I mention that *bottom* neither rhymes nor scans?
I couldn't think of a word that rhymes with 'glass', Z.
How about 'gravitas'?
Glad you're feeling better, Dave.
Was that a Gnu and a Gnuther Gnu in the white van? :)
how strange
all week I have been thinking of F&S
and here they are, chez toi
(do you think I was thinking of Flanders because of poppies?)
When will you release the podcast?
Oh, someone's done a gnu joke already. Which is good because I didn't actually have one.
I'm trying my best NOT to think of you muttering "Ave some Madeira m'dear" into Roses delicate ear...
